How can I make my flowers last longer?

Certain varieties of cut flowers last longer than others. Certain kinds of lillies, for example, can remain vibrant for long periods. Roses have a shorter vase life, but are prized for their special and delicate beauty. Whatever variety you choose, a little TLC will go a long way to keep your blooms looking fresh longer. Here are a few handy tips that can help add days to their beauty!

Keep them in a cool spot (65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit), away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, and direct drafts from ceiling fans, and the tops of televisions or radiators. (Appliances like televisions give off heat, causing flowers to dehydrate.)

If your flowers are designed in a basket or other container that has floral foam, keep the floral foam soaked in water.  Keep the vase filled with water.  If the water in the vase becomes cloudy, replace it entirely. If possible, re-cut the stems by removing one to two inches with a sharp knife. Remove leaves that will be below the waterline. Leaves in water will promote bacterial growth that can harm the flowers.

What do I do when my flowers have woody stems and branches (such as Quince, Forsythia, or Lilac)?

Cut the stem with sharp pruning shears. Place in warm water to promote flower opening. 

What is proper care for my Orchid?

Orchids should be watered every 5-7 days, or when the pot feels light. Do not over-water, and make sure it's not sitting in excess water.  It is important that your orchid does not get any direct sunlight on its leaves. Orchids prefer warmer temperatures and do well in regular "in house" temperatures of between 60-75. Your orchid will be happiest in a well-ventilated area with about 60% humidity.  All orchids are guaranteed for three days for exchange only.

How do I know my order has been confirmed?

When your order is placed on the web site, you will see a "Thank You for Placing an Order" page, which will have an online order confirmation number on it. This is confirmation that your order has successfully been placed. Your order is then sent over a secure connection to Online-Flowers-Pottery-Shop.com. If placed between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm CST it will then be processed within the hour. If placed after 3:00 pm CST your order will be processed the following day. You will receive an email confirmation once your order has been downloaded and received at Online-Flowers-Pottery-Shop.com. If there are any problems with your order, one of our customer service associates will contact you by phone or email.

What happens if something I order isn’t in stock?

If our florist is out of a particular decorative element, i.e. a specific basket, vase, etc., the florist may substitute a similar element of equal or greater value. We select the most creative florists to be on our team who professionally recreate our designs based on their creative interpretation. The "look and feel" of our arrangements featured will remain the same, with our florists paying careful attention to overall shape, size, style, and color combinations. Our florist will use only the freshest flowers, and so will make substitutions depending on seasonal and regional availability. In single-variety arrangements only, variety will take preference over color. For instance, if a florist is out of "yellow tulips," they will substitute another color of tulips, not another yellow flower.

What if I want my delivery to be made at a specific time?

We will arrange to accommodate a delivery time as per your request, however we CANNOT GUARANTEE an exact time of delivery, due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, traffic and rush hour deliveries. Holiday, rush orders, and deliveries during peak business traffic may encounter some delays, please allow some flexibility or extra advanced time to ensure delivery on schedule.

What if I need to make a change to my order or make a cancellation?

 If there is a change or you wish to cancel your order, you need to contact us as soon as possible. We will be happy to accommodate request when possible. 24 hour notice is required for a cancellation of an order.

What if I have a special offer?

 Special offers, coupons, or discounts cannot be used in conjunction with other offers. Limit one promotion per order.

What do you do with my personal information?

When you place an order, we require you to provide us with personal contact and billing information, including your address and telephone number. Online-Flowers-Pottery-Shop.com uses this information to give you a customized experience and to process the orders that you place with us. We use information we collect from you to process your orders, to provide an enhanced and more personalized shopping experience and to inform you and your gift recipients of offers and discounts from Online-Flowers-Pottery-Shop.com. Under no circumstances do we share or sell this information to outside parties.

We never send personal information over the network in a way that is readable to anyone but us. Online-Flowers-Pottery-Shop.com does not rent or sell information we receive from web orders or e-mail registrations to third parties.
